Our Supporters

Together, We Make an Impressive Difference in Our Community

We are fortunate to receive support from many organizations within our community. We are proud to feature just a few of these important partners who enable us to provide uninterrupted deliveries of healthy, perishable food to the members of our recipient agency network. Without their support we could not fulfill our mission of collecting perishable food and delivering it to those who need it. We are profoundly grateful to all.

We're grateful for Dave Alexander's continuous generosity and support of our mission.

Founded in 1982, by Dave Alexander, with only 135,000 barrels of storage, Caljet and its affiliates are now the largest independent motor fuels terminal in the U.S. Southwest, having grown to over 1,331,000 barrels of storage. Caljet continues to expand its operations, striving to provide its clients, and citizens of Arizona, enough terminal storage of petroleum products for a growing market, with convenience, and value-added service. In addition to its core work, Caljet & Dave Alexander actively support the local community as well as charities in other parts of the country through significant investments in groups ranging from The Boy Scouts of America to the American Heart Association & the Phoenix Heart Ball.

Waste Not is proud to be among these key charitable investments. During the past five years, we are most grateful for Dave Alexander and his companies for championing the work of feeding hungry people by being our top supporter.

Thermo King

Thermo King Corporation was founded 80 years ago to ensure the safe, refrigerated transport of perishable foods so that people could enjoy fresh, healthy meals both locally and around the world.

As part of the “We Move Food” program, we aim to close the very real gap between the 41 million Americans who struggle with hunger and the nearly $220 billion dollars of food that is thrown away each year in the U.S.

Recognizing that transport refrigeration plays a critical role in eliminating food waste and increasing food stability, our partnership with Waste Not provides a real connection between excess food and those who need it most.

Thermo King is excited to watch this program grow as we further leverage our strong programs like Waste Not. We are happy to support Waste Not financially in order to offset the costs of operating and maintaining a refrigerated fleet, which is the heart of a successful food recovery model.

Halle-Foundation-4.png

The mission of the Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation is to strengthen the daily operations and lifelong outcomes for the people and communities of the state of Arizona. The Foundation focuses on building, strengthening and sustaining innovative organizations.

Waste Not has had a relationship with the Foundation since 2008 and is most grateful for their infrastructure investments in our organization over the past three years so that we could build capacity to serve so many more people. We couldn't have done it without you.

Scottsdale-20_30-4.png

The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club and Foundation is comprised of 50 male business and community leaders between the ages of 20 and 40. The primary focus of the organization is philanthropic fundraising to support local children's charities. By hosting special events, the Club draws the community together to raise funds for, and to educate our citizens about the financial, medical, and emotional needs of Arizona's children. In addition to the community service, the Club also fosters personal growth through leadership within the Club and interaction with the charities supported.

In 2020, Waste Not received its fourth grant, this time in the amount of $30,000 in support of feeding thousands of local children in our Valley. We are grateful to this young, vibrant group for embracing our organization and returning as a valued partner.

The Ingersoll Rand Foundation, in conjunction with Thermo King Corporate as part of our We Move Food initiative, is proud to partner with Waste Not to support local hunger relief missions including food rescue and recovery.

The Ingersoll Rand Foundation aims to provide grants to support hunger relief programs aligned with the We Move Food mission, a hunger relief program developed to help reduce food waste, and increase access to fresh, nutritious food for people who need it most

Waste Not’s ability to provide 5 meals for every dollar is a wonderful use of resources and helps us achieve our long-term goals to reduce food waste and feed the hungry.

Chilis-logo-2011.png

Since 2010, Chili’s Grill & Bar, owned by Brinker International, hosts an annual fundraiser for the benefit of Waste NOT. We are grateful for this invaluable support and commitment from Brinker International and thank the many employees and loyal customers for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to our mission of feeding our hungry neighbors.

Season-for-Sharing.png

The Arizona Republic/12 News Season for Sharing has raised more than $60 million since its inception in 1993. Matching funds are also provided by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and the Gannett Foundation. These funds support local nonprofit agencies that help at-risk children and families, improve educational skills, aid victims of domestic violence and serve older adults.

SCHUMACHER (1).png

Mr. Werner Schumacher played a pivotal role in the early days of Waste Not, serving on the board in the organization's developmental stages as well as lending financial support and expertise that continue to today. Through his ownership of Schumacher Mercedes-Benz, he provided many trucks in the Waste Not fleet. Having retired from Schumacher Mercedes-Benz, Mr. Schumacher continues to be a primary financial supporter of Waste Not as well as an ardent advocate for our mission.

Frys-Food-and-Drug.png

Fry’s Food & Drug has been in the grocery business for 134 years. This experience has taught the company a few things about food and people and that meals matter – families who share meals together have children who do better in every aspect of their lives. With more than 40% of the food produced in the U.S. wasted, yet 1 in 8 Americans struggling with hunger (and the stats in Arizona are worse), the company knows that food waste undermines food security and it is committed to helping.

Kroger Co. Foundation, in a dedicated partnership with the Fry’s operating division of the Kroger Family of Companies, is strategically focused on advancing Kroger’s Zero Hunger I Zero Waste social impact plan. Thank you for being a valuable partner that understands the enormity of our food hunger and food waste challenges and is willing to step in to help!
