Helping People and the Planet Flourish
Since 1987, Waste Not has been creating sustainable food systems that help people and the planet flourish. We do this by eliminating food waste and hunger through innovative partnerships. As a local Arizona nonprofit, Waste Not has become a leader in the food rescue industry – keeping good food out of landfills and getting it to the people who need it the most.
Five days a week, Waste Not’s trucks are on the road. We pick up perishable, fresh food from grocery stores, catering companies, and other businesses. We then deliver it that same day to a network of over 85 nonprofits that feed the hungry, such as shelters, trauma centers, transitional housing complexes, and more. Waste Not’s innovative food rescue system meets the immediate needs of our planet and the people inhabiting it.
Waste Not’s partnerships are built on a foundation of compassion. Compassion for the Earth. Compassion for people. We thrive on being the solution to food waste and hunger in our community.
“Without Waste Not, we would have no meals to serve.”
–Steve Tepper, Executive Director, Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired
“When I give tours about our center, I always talk about Waste Not and our partnerships with them because it has been a blessing for us to be able to give to our families a huge box overflowing with food.”
– Tammy Abernethy, CEO, Hope Women’s Center
“We wanted to go to a zero-landfill model with all of our kitchens, and the only way that we got there was through Waste Not.”
– Steve Short, COO/Chef of Atlasta Catering
Never in our history has the need for our services been so high. With decades of experience, Waste Not is dedicated to leaving things better than we found them, but we need your support to do so.
