Remember - one man’s surplus is another man’s survival. Waste Not collaborates with a network of 116 generous food donors, with more than 157 “pick-up” points.” Our courteous drivers are on the road 6 days per week – beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Hunger Facts

• The alleviation of local hunger remains one of the most pervasive community challenges in Maricopa County today.

• In Arizona, 24.2% of children under 18 are food insecure, the 3rd highest rate in the country.  That translates to 1 in 5 children going to bed hungry every night.

• As many as 16.1% of Arizonans now live in poverty vs 13.2% nationally.

• Of those receiving emergency food in Arizona:
        •  41% are children and senior citizens
        •  41% of people within the past year had to choose between buying food and
           paying for utilities.
        •  28% of people within the past year had to choose between buying food and
           paying for medical care.
